Fight for Flight 1

It has been a long a day. I can't believe why people are so greedy. In my case just one I think, for now. All of my cowerkers but 1 were saying to go Flight (fly). I am just being thankful for them being on my side. All those human rights and shits, I am just too good to make something that I know 'karma' gets you in a good way.

I filed my vacation in advance like 3 weeks before. I am going to visit Santa Maria for a celebration that happens only in every 2 years. I asked for September 4th and 7th off at the clinic.

I missed the Christmas being here in Vegas, all other stuffs like Superbowl too, Birthdays, UFC ppv and even some boxing match. But not this time.

Like I said that I filed my vacation 3 weeks ahead of time. They even had it APPROVED. So I bought my plane tickets for the said days off. And now almost less then 9 days, they told me I can't had the following days off. Anyone will for sure be hell a mad for being getting approved and shit. Specially when you already got the cheapest flight to CA.

I gave way for a later flight this coming Friday, Yeah I bought another plane ticket and it's only a one-way one. I had it flexible so I can refund it for some reasons if something comes up. I asked the doctor if I can had the Monday off still because it's going to be a Holiday, which will be a win for them not paying me time and a half, will not be a easy money for sure because most of the patients wont come anyways, they had enough people for the clinic to cover for my off. Apparently not.

Shit happened.

They gave me an ultimatum.

Fight or Flight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't share this part for now... If things go well at least for me. I'll share it.
Tripping out.
Had my Labor Day weekend off ahead of time to visit Santa Maria, CA. All went well until last two days ago, hoping things will get better. I already purchased my ticket. Had my work days off. Until today.
Just like I said, had my my work days off ahead of time. Been looking forward to it since last month. I even get my plane ticket flexible in order to change if something came up. Which something came up.
I asked the doctor if I could get my Friday, Sept 4th off. He approved it. Until now that my coworker needs that day off too. I filed my off first before her, then shit happens that she needed same day off. Which conflicted with both our schedule for the clinic is always busy at fridays, only fn fridays and how sweet to hear that my doc said "she has to be off due to ....." I've gone deaf....
Like wtf, I know you're my 'boss' but hey, you already approved me before her, I already bought my ticket and shit, but still I don't get to get off at least for that day. And Yes, Labor Day is a Holiday, I'd be glad staying if I get paid double with that low paying rate shit. Drives me mad, no offense on my coworker but they need to hire people for friday, We have enough people on Mondays and Wednesdays, why not get at least one for Friday.
That's what's up.
Now I have to give up my day and purchase new ticket (still thinking about it) which cost $160.
It will make my 2 weeks paycheck for that one way ticket shit. If I ever wanted to ask for some random rideshare, I'd be glad, because I don't like driving there, or at least... Last choice will be driving there myself and hell a gas cost too much that will end up taking my 2 weeks paycheck also.
That's what's up.
Now, debating whether to fly (high chance of doing this), rideshare, drive or cancel (if it leaves me no choice at all). I just don't like this one flying for I have to take a connecting flight in LAX to SMX. sitting for 4hours for sure just to get to SM, CA. So basically that's my highest option.
I still wanted to experience driving tho.. hah. I think it'll be fun if I have someone to drive with me. Which I don't have.
That's what's up.
Hopefully I make the right decision by next week.. Am still looking forward to going.... Now I'm stressing out on this shit. Can't wait.. hah.
Welcome back
The title says it all.
I have been busy for these past few weeks.
Missing some days of posting and catching up.
There's nothing new about me.
Still `ole 118-120-ranged-of-weight-and-5'6"-foot-tall-guy.
Have made a visit to Santa Maria California, Missing my homies every time. But still at least I get to visit once in a while. It was all fun. Have to make a list of the missing parts that I should have posted at least once a week in order to catch up.
Working 3 jobs... Don't ask where... Still have to go to gym like after working/standing for 8 or more hours. I still go at LVAC here in Las Vegas..
It's all good here in Vegas.... I was about to move back in CA when a fellow 'kababayan' asked me if I want to work at a clinic. Hell yeah.. and it was the same time when I was about to file a 2weeks notice so I can move back to CA. Yeah, it was worth tho I still miss being in Santa Maria.
So 3 jobs. I work at a fast food chain... just like 10mins drive or less from my place. My manager is a Filipino that landed me a job because he likes how Pinoy does their work. Even my coworker likes me coz I get to do my job done, and still has time to help em out.
I met a guy, also my coworker in the fast food chain. I was the old cook, he was the new, 2nd day we get to worked together, I asked for his number, coz I can only do cooking or prep, so If something came up that I have to call out, I can ask him as long as he does not work on same day.... I asked his, then he asked mine, I gave him a few rings... and he was surprised coz my Prefix number are '805' I could still see the look on his face. Man just having the 805 number still makes me feel like I'm in CA... and in Santa Maria.. As I was saying, he asked me right away where at. I was about to tell him that it's in Santa Barbara County, but I told him instead that I live in Santa Maria... Another look on his face... and that made me smile too coz I can tell that he's from there too. Only if you look on his appearance he'll be looking like older then me. He just turned 18, he said he's happy about it.
I made a new friend this day, as well as he. We talked stuff coz the fast food went slow in the afternoon... so we get to share some of stuff we had back in Santa Maria. He said he only have like 3 friends here. But still cool, coz you get to meet new friends too. He graduated from Santa Maria High School. He plays football and landed a scholarship.. Assuming you already know what type of guy he is. He's pretty cool. funny too. I mean, I didn't get to go to any of school here, I only see em on movies or read em on stories.. So basically that's it with him, The cool part here is that I have a workout buddy now, I don't know though coz he goes to different gym that I go in to. He's 7mins drive away from my place and have to pick him up. We went to the gym that night (after me working at my other job, same day after working at the fast food with him)
We played racquetball, It was kind of like tennis but I got used to playing tennis so it's a bit hard for me. I had a good workout `coz he spotted me on some weights, he made me do his work out plan... it's really cool, I can really feel my muscles being workout. I know for sure in the morning that it'll be a sore, hopefully I don't get to drive tomorrow.. Yeah he became my personal trainer that time. He even asked me to clubbin with him this coming weekend at The Venetian, I told him "we'll see" so yeah. I have work that day so, I asked him too ~ aren't you 18 yet? How'd you get in at TAO? lol. so yeah...
I don't know what will happen.. I want to go clubbin I think, and found a new friend at least to go with.
Now I have to sleep.. I have my other job again tomorrow or this 8:30am..
Nice to be back...
P.S.
add me up at facebook.... link is on the right side of this blog...
laters!
Playlist....
I'm a bit of music junkie.. I can say, I can sing(well just sings along when the music plays), wherever I am. I always make sure if I'm going out for a long time, my iPod is definitely with me, I will forget my cellphone, but not my iPod. I listen to music everyday, even when I take a shower using my Nokia N70, just for music. (I dance to it rather than sing in the bathroom.. lolx - supposed to be secret but yeah I think it's worth sharing some about me). Before I go to bed, still I listens to one, I just put an alarm that will auto turn off after 15~30mins. I will wake up in the middle of my sleep because my ear hurts because the earphones are still on, and I will just remove it and after 5seconds, I'm back to my sleep.
Even at work that my coworker are/were amused that I happen to know alMOST of the lyrics that has been playing while we are working. "Okay, I swear, everytime you go here (cash register) and some music plays, you happen to know all the song (well, just most of the lyrics)" They (Tara and Patricia), has been listening then eh? I just don't tell em that most of it are in my iPod that is why. I don't have a radio so I do check some of the stations here, or while going to and from the gym travel time, most of the new songs I heard are from those stations, 94.1, 93.1, 102.7, 107.5..
I got hooked up listening to music when I was in highschool. Only and still, errr almost all of them are english, so I barely listens to Tagalog ones, yeah but idk about most of tagalog, I only know Parokya ni Edgar, Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Bamboo and that's it (I forgot some) but those are the only ones that has good type of music in Tagalog, Urbandub is one but all of their songs are still in english so....
I always makes some playlist on my iPod Classic. It depends on my mood on which one to listen to, what genres, beat, new/old... So browsing on my Music, most of them are downloaded by album so I don't really know some of the songs. If I am on the mood, I will put 'em on a new playlist.
I listen to most of genre's, from country to rock, reggae to pop, to christian or rnb's. As long as it gives good beat (I used to like low bass then) that has good bass if you put the volume on more loud mode. Beat, meaning, easy to catch up, or remember, and the Artist is well-known.
I have been putting up some music here on my blog page, and would like to track on which I had post. This one's for this blog only, I might share some of mine in my iPod but that's too many songs, most of the time I play is just the "Lift" playlist which has 62 songs in it, I can only listen to half of it when I'm in the gym (12-15songs/hr) and the other songs are just getting skipped.
I play upbeat of course most of the time, just to boost my pumping, running and getting back to mood. I play rock when I'm in the wet sauna, idk why, but it's fun playing rock when you are really sweating. They even ask me what am I listening to and some suggested to listen to this band.
I will still update this everytime I put a new one...
You can comment here if you think there's a good one!
So I can listen to it also. =)
Current Song: Don't Trust Me - 3oh13
Next on my list:
~ Birthday Sex - Jerimih
~ Boom Boom Pow - BEP
Previous ones:
~ My Love by The Dream ft/ Mariah Carey
~ Gotta be somebody by Nickelback
Pacman FTW!
The recent fight didn't really get me excited. We don't have TV/Cable perhaps to watch Manny Pacquiao aka as "PacMan". He is the current 'Pinoy's People Champ' or forever will be. He brought too much Pride to Philippines that even well known persons go watch his every fight the moment he steps in the ring.
Manny Pacquiao - Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao (pronounced /ˈpækjaʊ/; born December 17, 1978), known as Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao is a professional Filipino boxer. He is the former WBC lightweight world champion, WBC super featherweight world champion, IBF super bantamweight world champion, and WBC flyweight world champion. He has also held the Ring Magazine titles for featherweight, super featherweight, and light welterweight divisions. For his achievements, he became the first Filipino and Asian boxer to win four world titles in four different weight divisions. He is currently rated by the Ring Magazine as the #1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
I had it wiki'd. To give you a little bit of info about him.
So I'm not really into this 'stuff' but if every Pinoy is being up for something that gives our country Pride then I'm in. Sad that I had work at that time too. Sad for his opponent when I knew he KO'd him within 359 Seconds. Like everytime Pacman fights, I'd go also thinking how much money hell going to get, win or lose. hehe.
Kudos to Manny, giving another pride to Pinoys.
I only heard that he won because my pinoy co worker text'ed her husband that Manny won by KO on 2nd round. Like Wth. EEEaaazzy... That's it. PPV for $47 goes for that 2 rounds, still worth it though, but at least give us some entertainment. I was working when PM blows his punch so, it's sucks big time having to miss those strikes. Hopefully next time he'll going to have a match again here in Las Vegas, I'll be watching him fight LIVE. hehe..
P.S.
My cousin anna text'ed me that Davi is throwing PPV fight at the house along with B's and B's (Boozes and BBQ's) so having to miss that one is another *&($. At least I'll earn some on the bright side *sigh*
Slow
It might have been the recession. Still, people shops around. Like they don't care, so am I. heh.
The store has been slow for the past few days, even our computer registers. I just got off from work and having difficult to understand the words my co workers were saying. As well for the water guy seller that just came offering to sell water outside the unit of our condo.
Happy does not want to take me to the gym yet. Until my doctor says I'm 'ok' then that's the signal for me to go back again. And will wait for that until monday for the clinic to be open. Yeah, it sucks big time having to miss gym, well, for me, it's like I have gotten used to going at least 4 times a week, and now missing 2days of my 4x. Bah... I applied my online/temporary discount card, hopefully it's a valid one.
I had a check up last Thursday, the doctor said to try a anti-allergies pills (Claritin D) google it if you are curious. I still don't care, I don't think I have an alergy/gies,but yeah, that was the doctor said, blah blah blah... EKG was done, 57BPM apparently. Being an issue. Now I've got the referral from her too *my left leg is having cramps right now argh* to go to cardiologist...
Dx - Sinus Bradycardia
what my EKG result what it looks like.
from Mayoclinic.com
Your heart normally beats between 60 and 100 times a minute to provide enough oxygen-carrying blood to your body. A heart rate below 60 beats a minute is called bradycardia.
Although a heart rate this slow can be normal during sleep or in a well-trained athlete, bradycardia signals a problem if you have signs and symptoms such as fainting or shortness of breath.
- probably the red word made me go something like that in order for the doctor to get the slowness beating of my heart.
I just don't get it. I am blogging this one. My oldest sister told Happy to not to take me to gym bah.. But I said to Happy to still take me and she wouldn't.. That's prolly the reason I blogged this one.
Now will wait on Monday to have me check and see what will happens.
The Chosen One.
I Hit the gym last night. I always ran into this white guy (a breakdancer) in the abs section every Sunday 9pm. Always. We've only had a few small talks but he always handle the conversation. I just agreed all the time. I just got his name yesterday. Even though we have small talks like 4 times in every Sunday we had. He practices bboy.. I always do abs for like 20mins/4sets of different kinds of workout.
After that I hit the weights. He's upstairs, I'm on the down part.
He's in the jacuzzi/spa, I'm in the wet sauna.
I went to the pool. He went too. There's a division for slow and fast swimmers, and for walking. It's past 11:20pm and we are in the walking section part of the pool. There's another guy in the pool. He's always diving though it was not allowed to. We had our chat.
Choi: Shit! Look at that shit.
Breakdancer: Fucking shit.
C: Holy. Shit.
B: Holy. Shit.
C: (downs sandwich) That's our guy levitating.
B: Upside-fuckin-down, man. He’s levitating upside-fuckin’-down.
C: Like he’s Neo, dude. Fuckin’ A.
B: He’s the chosen one. He can read the Matrix. Fuck.
C: He just fucking walked right off the board and–BOOM!–he’s just fucking floating there.
B: Holy smoking donkey dick, he’s still up there.
C: Just fucking sitting there. Wherever I go, it’s like his eyes are followin’ me.
B: He’s gonna do that ’till I stop dropping balls, right?
C: I need a beer. Like, right damn now.
B: He heard that. He knew you were gonna say that before you even said it.
C: Holy shit, he did, didn’t he? Holy fucking shit.
B: How long’s he gonna be up there?
C: ‘Til we get an offensive line, he says.
B: He's gonna be up there for a while, then, motherfucker.
C: Fuckin’ A, man.
B: (shakes head) Fuckin’ A.
C: I'm going to hit the showers now.
B: What was your name was again?
C: Choi. C-H-O-I
B: *looks up in the ceiling, pointing while trying to spell" How'd you spell it again?
C: And yours?
B: Reese.
C: Like the chocolate?
R: Yeah. I'll try to remember yours.
C: Alright later. *looks up at neo and nod-ed*
Funny times.
Small talk.
Eto yung usapan na wala lang. Pampalipas oras. Pero maraming kung ano ano.
Halimbawa, nagbabasa ka sa bleacher, tapos biglang napadaan ang kaklase mo, bukod sa hi-hello, mandatory ang kaunting chit chat. Babatiin ka ni classmate: "Nagbabasa ka?" gusto mong sabihin, "Obvious ba?" pero siyempre magpapaka nice ka, at dahil ayaw mong makipag usap, kahit kitang kita mong mabigat ang dinadala nyang bag at pupunta pa sa room nya pero itatanong mo pa rin na "kakadating mo lang?". Siguro ilang minuto lang rin tatagal ang usapan ninyo, pero sa totoo lang, wala naman kayong pinag uusapan. Small talk nga.
Meron pa. Small talk sa binyag, sa kasal, sa party. Nag abala kang mag bihis, tapos pauupuin ka sa lugar na wala kang kakilala. Talo mo pa ang may surgery na walang anesthesia , lahat ng istorya nya eh sasabihin nya sa'yo, hindi mo sya kilala, pero tuloy parin ang salita. Small talk nga.
Meron pa. Sa Gym, tumakbo ka ng mga 2miles. Nag pahinga ka sandali sa lugar na lagi mong inuupuan tapos tatakbo ulit. May lumapit sa iyo at sinabing: "catching your breath too?". Obvious pa rin, hindi ka makasagot kasi nga hayun ang sitwasyon mo. *I nod-ed*. Tumayo ako, pati sya, sumabay sa pagtakbo at nag kwento. Small talk parin.
Dapat ang small talk parang one-night stand. Ang pagkakaiba lang walang orgasm. Puro foreplay lang, small talk nga eh, walang peak ang paroroonan. Dapat kinabukasan, kakalimutan. Kaso ang problema, pag nakipag small talk sya ulit, ganun pa rin, parang naghahanap ng bestfriend.
Nung nasa Pilipinas pa ako. Pag may nakasabay kang kaibigan, pakiramdaman, sino ang magbabayad sa sino. Syempre papayag kang malibre, 17 Pesos din yun, kaso ang lagay, ikaw ang may dala ng kwentuhan. Ganun talaga sa kasulatan, nag uunahan kayo ng pera sa pagdukot para ibayad ang isa. Kung ano anong obvious tuloy ang masasabi mo kasi nilibre ka. "Ang traffic noh?", "ang bagal ng jeep", o kaya "may quiz ka?" dahil meron syang binabasa na xerox copy.
Sa trabahong pinapasukan ko, ibang level ang small talk. Madalas sino-showbiz ka. May makakasabay ka sa break room, sempre andun pa rin ang hi-hello.
Co-worker: Ganda ng soot mo. Mag mo move ka?
Ako: Salamat.... Hindi ko alam. Saan daw?
CW: Kala ko dun sa LA.
A: Sinong nagsabi?
CW: Sila sila.
A: (Halatang hinuhuli ka lang kasi sinabi ko lang sa manager ko. Nginitian ko nalang)
CW: Dapat mag file ka ng 2weeks para hire-in ka ulit nila pag mag aapply ka.
A: (Nginitian ko nalang ulit at buntong hininga.)
4:59 na noh, tagal mag 5pm.
CW: Oo nga, tagal noh?
¡Se Habla Espanol!
¿Donde mi burrito at? ¿and side chalupas'.? lol.. I, actually Happy ran into some books and saw this (picture on the right) and had me buy it. I just glanced over it tonight and it's kinda funny that I'm imitating mexican/spanish accent while I read the book.
It's a bit hard if you don't know how to understand other peoples language. Sometimes it annoys you that maybe you are the topic of what they are talking about, or just being paranoid there at the moment. We, or some of Filipino's know most of the words from spanish,
" Spanish was an official language of the Philippines since colonization by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in the 16th century until the change of Constitution in 1973. The First Philippine Republic of 1899 chose Spanish as its official language, but during the US occupation and administration of the islands English was imposed and Spanish became gradually marginalized."
For it has been one of our official language then. Moving on, now that I am here in US, but still thanking that I even get to know English, which is the world's common spoken language. Eventhough I don't really listen or good when it comes to English subject, I still made my way in order to "understand" what it is all about.
Many Mexicans or should I say Hispanic race are here in US, it annoys a bit that they are residing here but most of them doesn't know how to speak one. I'll leave the reason to them. That's why Happy asked me to get this book. So I just glanced/scanned through it or w/e. Most of the jobs here are bilingual related as preffered but not necessary. So in order for me to get a good job, or at least high chances of getting hired, I need to learn how to speak one. Hopefully I learn much and improve my pinoy-spanish-common-language. heh..
¡Salud!
Start!
Woot. I got hooked by my cousin's into blogging. pretty gey imo. Not really into blogs and stuff. Starting now, but I must keep this on my mind to update this page every now and then. I might not be good in writing nor grammar and even spelling, so heads up, I'm terribad in such.
If some of my readers (I'm assuming more are reading) likes my post or at least. Then it'll make me want to update this more often and write more. I Must post to related issues we current have at the moment. Focus. I have a lot of things going inside my head. I just don't know where to begin.
I'll just introduce myself perhaps, I'm a Filipino, born and raised in the P.I. and currently staying here in USA, in Las Vegas Nevada. I work at a retail store, at the moment and still looking for other job that will make me earn enough to go back home and finish my study. It is really hard to find a job especially when you don't have enough experience that you have to sell yourself in order to the employer just to get hired. I kind of got used to live here in US, pretty much same when I was in P.I., I always stay in the house, playing/surfing with my computer. So yeah, gamer, surfer, anything goes under tech. I might say that my parents goes out a lot than me.
It's way different living outside the country, but I do adjust or adapt quickly with my environment. Only different or most of the difference are 1. Climate, there are four seasons here, and even got to see snow outside our condo unit. It was pretty cool, good thing it didn't last long, I don't want to clear the driveway everytime, 2. Always cold, I have to wear 2 clothes at least just to make my body in normal body heat range., 3. You get want you want, just make sure you have a job to keep it up. hehe. 4. People, they do greet you even if you don't know them, I was like ''okay", back in P.I., you don't say '" 'hey', 'wazzup', 'how's it going'" and some stuff like that. Well I think that's just for me.
I am frustrated with a lot of stuff, like having at least a good camera (even a bad one) for not owning one hehe, now that I'm here in US, I am still looking forward to go to a place where it snows, just for snowboarding or skiing, or to skydive or surf. Too many bud, might post different experiences with that hoping at least to get one. Frustrated with sports and fitness, sometimes I wished I went to school here just to know different kind of sports and feeling the hallways and locker on the hallways, I am only seeing 'em in the movies or tv series'. Fitness for I went here weighing 135lbs of muscle and some fats hehe. And now I 'was' overweight and now underweight and now maintaining my weight at least, (last time I checked I was 123lbs.) at least I can eat whatever I want now, but staying healthy in my ways. (I'll try to make another post for it)
It's 4:16am and I usually go to bed at this time. Looking for my iPod. I always sleep listening to music.
So I guess It's a start..
Need to fix still my site and if you do know how to improve mine with layouts, please, I do need help with it.
